Low-Tech: Procedures, Actors, Concepts
The 44th History of Technology Conference of the Iron Library on 14 and 15 November 2025 will make 'low-tech' its theme and will examine its properties, definitions and roles in the past. In all eras, more modest technologies and their adaptation to local and ecological conditions were much more relevant for everyday life. At the conference, we will explore historical applications of low-tech, their symbolic values, and their relevance for overcoming current technological challenges. We invite interested parties from research, education and teaching to apply to speak. The conference language is English.
