Ferrum – News from the Iron Library

The journal "Ferrum - News from the Iron Library" is a scientific publication in the field of the history of technology. The journal is dedicated to one topic from the history of technology and is published every two years.

In August 1954 the first "Nachrichten aus der Eisenbibliothek" ("News from the Iron Library") was published. They reported on activities of the library and presented treasures and curiosities from the historical book collections. The "News" appeared in loose succession as a multi-page leaflet until number 47 in November 1976. With number 48 (1977) the "News" was renamed Ferrum and the annual journal grew in size. Since 1979 the proceedings of the History of Technology Conference have been published in it. From 2019 the journal will no longer appear annually, but every two years.
