In 1825, Johann Conrad Fischer, the founder of GF, travelled to England once again. This trip was one of his most intense. Fischer had just developed an impressive new alloy—meteoric steel—and wanted to consult with colleagues in the industry and publicize his work. He made new contacts, gained new customers, and recorded all these experiences in one of his most comprehensive travel journals. The journal of his promotional trip was published in digital form in 2023.
