“Balagan”
Old stuff, at best a memento—that's all Amira expects when she pushes open the door to her late grandfather's storage room in Berlin-Moabit. But then she finds herself standing in front of her Jewish family's art collection, which had been believed lost since World War II. “WTF!” thinks Amira, and immediately posts an Insta story. Should Amira donate the artworks to a museum or sell them? When doubts arise as to whether the collection was legally returned to her grandfather, Amira suddenly has to justify herself. A razor-sharp novel about a young woman who must find her way through the chaos (Hebrew: “balagan”) that German-Jewish history has left her.
