Reopening of the Iron Library on March 1, 2021
From March 1, the Iron Library and Corporate Archives of Georg Fischer AG will be open for reading room visitors.
We look forward to your visit. Please note the protective measures concept in operation in the library.
Iron Library Protective Measures Concept
The Iron Library is implementing all necessary measures to protect visitors as well as possible. We are following a concept of protective measures based upon those that have been developed and introduced in the guidelines of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) as well as the recommendations of Bibliosuisse and the Verein Schweizer Archivarinnen und Archive (VSA).
We thank you for your support and compliance in following the instructions of the library staff.
The most important protective measures are:
- Compulsory wearing of a protective face mask on the library premises at all times.
- Maintainance of a minimum distance from other people.
Protective and Hygiene Measures
Disinfectant dispensers are available in the stairwell on the ground floor and on the first floor as well as in the sanitary facilities. Disinfectant wipes are available in the reading room. Frequently touched surfaces in the visitor areas are cleaned more intensively. For your own protection and out of consideration for other visitors, please observe the hygiene rules of the Federal Office of Public Health.
Guided tours for external groups are currently only possible within limitations. If you are interested in a guided tour, please contact the library team.
Library and archive use
External users can work in the reading room by appointment from March 1 2021. Users are requested to order books and archival materials in advance. Only one person is allowed in the reading room at a time. More than one user at a time is not permitted.
It is still permitted to bring a laptop, camera, etc. Disposable gloves and cleaning cloths are available for users in the reading room.
Details of our opening hours and contact details can be found here.
