Two donations on plastics and polymer sciences

Though only a few months have passed, 2021 has already shown itself to be a busy year for donations to the Iron Library! We're delighted to announce two large new donations in the first quarter to the collection of works on the history and industrial application of plastics.

At the beginning of March, Heinz-Jürgen Rissiek donated journals such as PLASTverarbeiter and Kunststoffe, as well as numerous VDI annual reports on developments in the field of polymer technology. This was followed by a sizeable donation from the former research library of KraussMaffei High Performance AG of Näfels. Works donated from this collection include highly technical manuals on the production of plastics, as well as the applications of plastics in mechanical engineering. Taken together they contribute a sizeable expansion to both the breadth and depth of the library's holdings on this important subject.
