Donation of old and rare books by Patrick Burgy
It is in no small way due to the generosity of donors, that the Iron Library has grown into one of the largest libraries in the world in its specialist area. 2022 began with an impressive donation by Patrick Burgy of Schaffhausen. The titles are an excellent addition to the holdings and are valuable resources for the scholars who come to us from around the world to use the holdings for their research. These include:
- Model & Parmentier: Récréations chimiques. (Paris, 1774. 2 volumes)
- Diderot & d'Alembert: Encyclopédie ou dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers. (Lausanne, 1778. 36 volumes)
- Valmont de Bomare: Dictionnaire raisonnée universelle d'histoire naturelle. 4ème édition. (Switzerland: 1780. 12 volumes)
- Picot, J.: Tablettes chronologiques de l'histoire universelle. (Geneva, 1808. 3 volumes)
