Hugo Rechsteiner Jubilee: 50 years at GF

On Thursday March 6 2025 we marked a very special anniversary at the Iron Library: 50 years of Hugo Rechsteiner at Georg Fischer! Starting as a “Lehrling” draftsman in 1962, Hugo spent decades shaping industries—from ski lifts in the Alps to revolutionizing gas distribution with polyethylene. As a pioneer in double-pipe systems and a leader in global sales and training at GF Piping Systems, he left a lasting mark on industrial innovation at the company before retiring in 2011. Since 2014, Hugo has been giving tours of the Iron Library Foundation and Klostergut Paradies – some of you reading this may well have taken part on one of them. We are delighted that he will continue to be a part of the Library’s team beyond his 50th. He is full of stories and an example for what can be made of a (working) life!
